CHANGES ANNOUNCED FOR NOBLESVILLE TRASH
AND RECYCLABLES PICKUP
(Noblesville, IN)….Beginning Monday,
June 2, Republic Services of Indiana will take over as Noblesville’s
solid waste and recyclables provider. Attached is a photo
of a Republic Services truck. Initially, there will be one
change that residents need to be aware of:
1) Republic Services will observe the following
holidays each year: New Year’s Day; Memorial Day;
July 4th; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; and Christmas Day.
Trash will not be picked up on these holidays but instead
will be delayed one day (Example: Labor Day will be on Monday,
September 1, 2008, so for that week, residents whose trash
pick up is on Mondays will have their trash collected on
Tuesday, September 2; Tuesday pickup will be Wednesday,
etc.).
For now, residents should continue to put
out trash in the same manner that they have been doing.
However, in approximately 90 days, Republic Services will
begin providing each residence with a new 96 gallon container
for solid waste and a 65 gallon container for recyclables.
Once these containers are delivered, residents will be required
to use only these containers. If a resident requires a second
96 gallon container, Republic Services will be providing
instructions on how to request an additional container.
After the Republic Services containers are
delivered, the collection days for some residents will change;
however, all affected residents will be notified in advance
of their new collection day. Once residents have received
their 65 gallon recyclables container, their recyclables
pickup will become bi-weekly. Until that time, recyclable
collection will remain weekly on the same day as residents’
regularly scheduled trash pickup day.
Residents will be limited to a maximum of
two 96 gallon containers per week. If residents have additional
trash, they must purchase overage bags at the Noblesville
Street Department or any Noblesville fire station.
For more information, contact the Noblesville
Street Department at (317) 776-6348.
